Sibiu, 2007, Introducere la volumul bilingv „Dimineața serii”
Obligat de profesia lui inginerească să adaste în preajma pământului, care ne asigură pâinea cea de toate zilele, Gheorghe Apetroae este atras în plămădirile sale de misterul blagian al cerului spre care îndreaptă neliniştitoare meditaţii în versurile volumelor Despre neînceput din 1992 şi Depăşirea trecerii publicat în anul 2000. Ispita prezentării poeziilor şi eseurilor sale în cenaclul „Lumina”, frecventat între 1986 şi 1990, şi în Cenaclul literar al revistei Transilvania de la Sibiu, din 1991 până în 1996, nu l-a mai mobilizat în ultimii ani şi puţini sunt cei care îşi mai amintesc cronicile de cenaclu cu care autorul era prezent în „Tribuna”, la „Dimineaţa”, „Rondul” sau „Radical”, ca să menţionez numai presa locală, fără a uita că i-am văzut semnătura de eseist şi în revista „Astra” de la Braşov.... Absolvent al Liceului „N. Gane” din Fălticeni în anul 1964, inginer agronom și geodez, Doctor în geobotanică, Gheorghe Apetroae a activat și ca lector univ. la secţia de cadastru a Universităţii de Ştiinţe Agricole din Cluj-Napoca.
În ciuda unei anumite discreţii, de care se face prea adesea vinovat, poetul are un palmares completat în ultimii ani la Concursul naţional Iancule, crai luminat de la Alba Iulia din 2002 cu premiul de poezie, completat cu premiul pentru exegeză- eseu critic la Concursul literar național consacrat liricii lui Radu Selejan, din acelaşi an. Apoi a participat cu succes și la Concursul naţional Carmen patriae al Aşezământului cultural Ţara Bârsei. Şi acum, când eram pe cale să uităm şi articolele sale politice şi ştiinţifice, Gheorghe Apetroae ne surprinde cu o nouă iniţiativă creatoare, prin selecţia sa de poeme, care au o unitate în diversitate, anunţată chiar şi prin titlul cu reflexe auroral antinomice Dimineaţa serii. Pentru prima dată în evoluţia sa lirică poetul şi-a propus o ediţie bilingvă, româno-engleză, ca o nouă experienţă de creaţie şi o altă şansă de penetraţie a ideilor sale, turnate într-o limbă de largă circulaţie cu ajutorul anglistei Clementina Mihăilescu. Păstorul stelelor, pe care efebul le coboară cu grijă pe lunci cu o titanică forţă (De atunci), devine blagianul demiurgic sărut al primelor lumini din Statornicie. La antipod se află „sărutul pământului / din căuşul olarului”, gestul ritualic menit să-i aducă „prima sămânţă a cerului” din poezia Să-mi deseneze pe geam. Familiaritatea sa cu razele de lună, mereu jucăuşe, nu-l îndepărtează de glia cea meditativă în viziunea sa, întrucât „chiar şi pământul stă bine să gândească sfârşitul / popoarelor de lumi răsărite, înflorite să treacă pe rând...”. O mai îndrăzneaţă metaforizare, încercată în Dimineaţa serii şi în Tratat despre fluturi, poate ozona din plin versurile viitoare. Iubitor al antinomiei terestru-cosmic, poetul moldovean nu putea să nu adaste cu ritmuri de odă în preajma celui identificat a fi El, Eminescu. Răsărit din zăpezile mamei, simbolul purităţii, poetul se metamorfozează într-o manieră romantică el însuşi în „floarea albă de rouă”. Cu un gest de tandreţe genuină poetul conchide: „În gratitudine / mă aplec / spre sânii tăi, / în mine înrouraţi, / să sorb culorile amintirilor...” (Gratitudine). De altfel, în esenţă încântarea este nutrită de cei dragi din familia cea mică a casei poetului şi din cea mare a literaturii noastre naţionale, în care Eminescu şi Blaga nu încetează să-i fie idoli. Antologia aceasta de autor demonstrează indubitabil că inspiraţia poetică, aşa cum ea se conjugă cu expresia eseistică, îi este lui Gheorghe Apetroae înainte de toate o stare existenţială, care îi umple și îi ritmează viaţa.

THE FASCINATION OF THE ANTONYMY OF THE APOLLINIAN WITH THE TELLURIC

Forced by his profession of an engineer to live close by the land which assures us our daily bread, Gheorghe Apetroae is attracted in his literary contributions by the mystery of the sky towards which he directs his restless meditations in his volumes in verse entitled „About the Unself” („Despre neînceput”) published in 1992 and „The Outrunning of the Passage” („Depăşirea trecerii”) published in 2000. The temptation to present his poems and essays at the literary circle “The Light” („Lumina”), between 1986-1990 and at The Literary Circle from Sibiu between 1991-1996 ceased to summon him within the last years and there are only few people who still remember the reviews from the literary circle signed by him and published in Tribuna, Dimineaţa, Rondul or Radical, to mention only the local press, without omitting those from the “Astra Review” of Braşov... Gheorghe Apetroae graduated “N. Gane High School” from Fălticeni in 1964, took his doctor s degree in geobotany, worked as a lecturer at the survey section from the University of Agricultural Sciences in Cluj- Napoca.
In spite of his discretion, within the last years the poet completed his fine record at the National Competition called “Iancule, crai luminat” in Alba Iulia in 2002, where he received the prize for poetry. His record was further completed with the prize for the critical essay dedicated to the lyrical contribution of Radu Selejan within the same year. Soon after that he successfully took part in the National Competition “Carmen patriae” from the cultural establishment Ţara Bârsei. Besides his political and scientific articles, Gheorghe Apetroae has also surprised us with a new creative initiative – his section of poems, whose unitarian character in spite of its diversity is announced by the very title with its antonymic reflexes “The Morning of the Evening”. For the first time in his lyrical evolution the poet has proposed a bilingual Romanian-English edition as a new creative experience and another chance meant to assure the penetration of his ideas into the world literature, through the translations done by the students of the Translation Studies from ULBS, coordonated by the Anglicist Clementina Mihăilescu.
The shepherd of the stars, that the ephebe carefully brings down onto the river meadows with a titanic force (“Since Then” – “De atunci”) becomes, in the manner of the Romanian poet Lucian Blaga, the demiurgic kiss of the first lights in “Stability” – “Stabilitate”. At the opposite pole there is “the kiss of the earth / out of the potter’s dipper”, the ritualistic gesture meant to bring him “the first seed of the sky” from the poem “It Should Be Drawn on My Window”. His familiarity with the always playful moon rays does not estrange him from the meditative land in his vision, as “even the earth knows well to think about the end / of the people coming from blossoming worlds, passing one by one”. A bolder figurative approach experimented in “The Morning of the Evening” and in “Treatise about Butterflies” can ozonize the verses to come. The Moldavian poet, fond of the terrestrial-cosmic antonymy, could not but halt, with rhythms of ode, in the vicinity of the one identified as “He, Eminescu” („El, Eminescu”). Born out of the snows of the mother, which signifies purity, the poet, in a rather romantic manner, metamorphoses himself in “the white-petalled flower of the dew”. With a gesture full of genuine tenderness, the poet concludes: “In gratitude / I bend / down to your bosom, / dewy inside me, / to sip away the colours of my memories” (“Gratitude” – “Gratitudine”). To conclude, his relish is essentially cherished by the beloved people from his small family and from the large family of our national literature, Eminescu and Blaga being his idols. The present anthology demonstrates, beyond any doubt, that the poetic inspiration, conjugated with the essay-like expression is for Gheorghe Apetroae an existential state, which modulates his life.

o slobozire la întâiul ţipăt
şi gângurit la sânii mamei
cu semnul viselor de cântec…!
Din ne-nţeles furai cuvântul
şi în răsfăţul primelor icoane,
priviri gândeau să calci pământul
în chipul lebedei, al mamei…
să râzi, să cânți lângă izvoare,
de flori albastre-ndrăgostit,
să te alini în susur lin,
cu taina cerului senin,
mureai un tânăr crin sălbatic…!

a liberation on the first scream
prattling at my mother’s laps
dreaming about signs of song...!
I would steal the meaning out of mystery
and leave it unspoiled by the first icons
I dreamt of stepping on the ground
looking like the swan and my mother...
to laugh, to sing near the springs
infatuated with blue flowers,
to calm down the quiet murmur,
with the secret of the clear sky.
I would die, a wild young lily...!
